Founded in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Marumi Coffee has been a local favorite for over 17 years.
Its owner and head roaster, Eijiro Goto, was the champion of the 2013 JCRC (Japan Coffee Roasting Championship) and remains a leading figure in Japan’s coffee scene.

Mr. Goto personally visits origin farms and emphasizes both quality and affordability, believing great coffee should be accessible to all.
His philosophy is simple: “Coffee should make people smile from the heart.”

Champion Roaster of Japan, Founder of Marumi Coffee

Eijiro Goto is the founder of Marumi Coffee in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Since establishing the brand in 2006, he has focused on specialty coffee roasting and consumer education.
In 2013, he won the JCRC (Japan Coffee Roasting Championship), and placed sixth in the WCRC (World Coffee Roasting Championship) in 2014.
He was the first certified Q-Grader in Hokkaido, and also took third place in the World Cup Taster’s Championship in 2009.

Goto-san frequently travels to origin for direct sourcing and sustainable farming collaborations. He also organizes the annual "Sapporo Coffee Marche," uniting coffee lovers and champion roasters across Japan.
